i am also wondering if his fans may spoil the atmosphere of a show. esp a small one.
I saw him at Coachella 2 years ago and he blew me away.

ATP would like to announce that the curators for the ATP festival known as the NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS to be held at Camber Sands Holiday Camp, UK on December 2nd, 3rd and 4th, 2005 will be THE MARS VOLTA.
Tickets for the event will go on-sale on Friday June 3rd, 2005.
All Tomorrowâ??s Parties is a festival that takes place in the UK (and previously also in LA). For every event, a curator is chosen who then picks all the bands on the line-up. The Nightmare Before Christmas event takes place at a holiday camp in England that holds just 3000 people. Everyone stays on site in chalets â?? like a 50â??s motel room - all with private bath/shower and WC. Chalets come in berths of 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. Ticket price includes both accommodation for three nights and a festival pass.
Seeing the Mars Volta ATP is a bit like getting inside their heads and seeing music from their point of view. For true fans, this is an opportunity not to be missed.
Cedric Bixler of the Mars Volta: â??We are honored and grateful to be given the chance to assemble a private mix tape and have it come to life. We are thrilled for the opportunity to play with some of our favorite bands, and hope you find our line up to be both intriguing and diverse.â?
â??We are happy to welcome The Mars Volta to the curatorial chair,â? says Barry Hogan of ATP. â??They are one of the most sonic live bands Iâ??ve ever seen and their recent release, â??Frances the Muteâ?? indicates their influences will be a distinct offering.â?
The Mars Volta will be headlining one of the days and have put forward an eclectic wish list. Confirmed so far: The Kills, Diamanda Galas, Cinematic Orchestra, Blonde Redhead, Jaga Jazzist, Weird War, Damo Suzuki (Can), Beans, High On Fire, The Fucking Champs, Les Savy Fav, Michael Rother (Neu!), Acid Mothers Temple, Battles, Mr Quintron, and The Locust. The band has also chosen the following artists from their own GSL label: 400 Blows, Subtitle, Kill Me Tomorrow. Another 11 artists will be confirmed over the next couple weeks.
Tickets are priced at £120, including a 3-day festival pass and 3 nights accommodation. Ticket includes performances starting from mid-afternoon with bars and DJ sets through till dawn, plus three nights in a self-catering chalet accommodation all with private bathroom suites. Onsite facilities include an indoor swimming pool, mini-golf, go-karting, restaurants & fast food outlets as well as a supermarket and off-license.
Camber Sands is approximately 60 miles from London, or around an hour and half drive. Alternatively, a train into Rye Village and then a short bus journey can reach the site.
Tickets for the All Tomorrowâ??s Parties Nightmare Before Christmas can be purchased directly through www.atpfestival.com and are available in blocks of 4,5,6,7 or 8 due to the specifications of the accommodation. For the first time, tickets will also be available in blocks of 2 (Share-A-Chalet). To apply for Share-A-Chalet, please go to www.atpfestival.com and follow the instructions.

I haven't seen him for few years & in that time I think he's changed his style a bit - no longer spends the entire show in his rug draped chair - he gets up and gives some of the songs the full-on rock treatment they derserve.

I would definitely check out this gig - I love the shows @ the 9:30 (or any other small club)where the performer has outgrown the venue. The energy is potent.
