But it’s one of my favorite bands…love love them
They are really great. One of the coolest things I ever got to go to is seeing them tape their MTV Unplugged and sitting right next to Sofia Coppola and their kids.

I DIDN’T point out the tickets cost me nothing.
Sofia is a true triple threat

1. I think she was absolutely perfect in Godfather III. People just didn’t like the character or her face and blamed the acting
2. Great director. Lost in translation
3. Really gets music in movies. Marie Antoinette
#4…she's freaking hot too….but mostly because 1-3 IMO…achievement is very sexy

and to come full circle
she directed "Chloroform" by Phoenix (2013)

I never caught The Bling Ring….is that a must watch?

It's worse than everything that came before it but better than everything she put out after. Its worth watching but no "MUST".

yikes…that is not a ringing endorsement.
It's solidly a B-/C+. I'm not trying to damn it with faint praise, just being honest.

I'm a HUGE Sophia fan and this is spot on. Totally agree. Worth seeing, but not up to par with previous work. But still entertaining.
While Sofia Coppola chat is taking over the lesser-JA thread for a beat, can we talk about how La Piscine's re-release and rise in cultural currency probably indicates we all need to go rewatch Somewhere and understand Roger Ebert knew what the hell he was talking about when he gave that film 4 stars?

Campbell is such a talented guitarist…. the attention was always focused on Petty but Mike came up with a ton of distinctive licks…
