Just Announced

yeah, summer looks mostly dismal. Stupid festival shows suck up all the talent. I hate those things.

Also:
Watson Twins at RnR July 9th

Blue King Brown and Theresa Anderson at RnR Aug 23rd for their 2nd Anniversary party

The Bird & The Bee at Jammin Java October 3rd
Those were my exact thoughts!

There's always Whartscape. That lineup is shaping up quite nicely. But then again, I kinda have the feeling that nothing on that bill will do anything for you either.
And yeah; festivals do tend to ruin summer club-wise but my late june->mid-july is packed already. :)

P.S. The Ruby Suns were added to the Tilly and the Wall show. I liked that sea lion album but they were lackluster live when they opened for Le Loup.

Expectations are usually pretty low for Artscape, but they usually manage to accidentally book something good.

Not so this year.

By "Rose Hill" they mean "Rose Hill Drive", right? I'm all over that, but I'm skeptical because per their web site they're starting a west coast tour 2 days later.

Again "The Oranges" should be "The Oranges Band". They need an editor.
It's funny to me that Busted Flute, I mean Rusted Root, is still together…

I gotta say, I am pretty stunned that ex-Marillion singer Fish is playing the 9:30 club. I wouldn't think he'd have the draw for a venue this large…
uh, let's see how well he fills the place before passing judgment.
I mean, I'm surprised he was even booked…

are they the band that has that one song that starts off really quiet and then it gets REALLY LOUD but then it, like, gets quiet again but then, like, oh my god, IT GETS REALLY LOUD AGAIN?

I think it's down to 3 original members, which saddens me, but hey, it's free, so I'll be there. They put on a damn good show at 9:30 club back in '02 or something like that. But then again, that was with all of the original members together.

Man, I still have chills thinking about that Ottobar show. I don't think I've ever felt a blast of distortion like that before or since. It was like a bomb going off.
