they just played here not too long ago, so this is more a case of sloppy seconds.

According to the gospel of Hutch: no band should ever skip DC on any tour, for any reason, no matter how recently they played there. A proper national tour involves a DC concert between every non-DC concert.

it's not unusual for bands to play the undesirable cities of America couple months after they've played the desirable ones.

Isn't this for the Millie's anniversary party? An old friend from there Chris Bobst posted something about this in FB.
I used to live in RVa a long time ago and loved that place. Good omlettes.

Chris Bopst is the worst thing to happen to the RVA music scene ever. I will never understand how the fucking bass player from Gwar became a music guru – hey dude, everything you ever touched was awful.

Funny, this was MY argument in that thread, but he is of the belief that all the people in the major-market city who saw the same concert a few months before are driving to mid-major cities 2 hours away to see them again, thereby propping up the mid-major markets shows.

Chris was in gwar for about 5 min before they ever did anything….he's better known for playing bass in the alternatives, was never a fan but they were on SST and toured a bunch so good on him.
I haven't been to richmond in many many years and am not aware of this music guru status….he was always a good guy it's too bad he's destroyed your music scene. You should have have done something to stop him.

The thing about american cheese is it's not really cheese at all, just some processed food product that resembles cheese. Actually many would argue it doesn't taste like cheese at all. It is mostly enjoyed by young children or people who are not fortunate or sophisticated enough to have enjoyed a fine Stilton or Manchego.
This american cheese principal can be easily applied to Lenny Kravitz. He's fine for folks that really don't know any better. For people with taste, not so much.
