Hmm… plenty of time to schedule a New Pornographers shop for 5/18, wouldn't you say?

ain't nothin' wrong with wishful thinking.

All official on the Blackcats site now:

MON MAY 17- NEKO CASE, THE MENDOZA LINE $14 mainstage 8:30

SAT MAY 22- THE THRILLS $12 mainstage 9:30

TUES JUNE 1- BEULAH, DIOS $10 mainstage 8:30

Three nice shows. I might go to them all.
I would have to agree that Neko is better on record than live. But I haven't seen her live in a long, long time…

except if you are me, I just thought the live show added nothing to the experience, although she is not bad to look at
I was just talking to a colleague about the Raveonettes (not the non-sequiter it appears) and realized while talking to him that seeing their live show actually detracts from my appreciation of their music overall now. I can't listen to it without picturing them singing, apparently bored out of their frickin' minds. So now the music sounds even more boring.

I can see pollard's point. And I am not enticed by her fine…whatever. ;)

New Pornographers kick ass, btw. (Like that's news here…)

well not exactly my point, seeing her live did not ruin anything for me, just didn't do anything for me that I could not get from listening to the cd

the point you are making applies to me more with the Dandy Warhols, who I have yet to listen to since their show because it was such a let down, I am sure I will come back to it eventually, the same thing happened to me with the White Stripes, did not listen to them for a year after their last 9:30 show
Actually my memory is coming back to me…. I did get a bit bored at a Neko Case show, but I just put that down to not knowing any of the songs very well. Towards the end she played a couple of covers and the couple of her songs I knew and that was pretty enjoyable.
ooh, i'll definately be at the neko case show.

Didn't mean to imply that the Neko show detracted from your interest in her records – sorry, just meant that I can see a live show not adding anything, and in some cases taking away…

I guess I was agreeing that you don't need to see everything you like…

There is no need to hide your love of Nelly Furtado. Its ok.
Wow, 9:30 Club announces a Neil Diamond impersonator show, an Elvis impersonator show, and a male impersonator show all in the space of two weeks.

They really are going all out to pass Iota and Black Cat for best DC club status, aren't they?
One of my favorite live acts:

9/10 Big Sandy and His Fly Rite Boys, Iota

…wish i were on the lest coast and could see them touring with BR549.
From Pollstar:

Its in the fall and these are out west, but nonetheless good news:
