Why are DMBQ still touring? China is irreplaceable. I'm sorry.

I think the fact they've announced only 7 people will be on the tour (none of the females), and they're playing in support of Canning's solo album as opposed to a BSS-greatest hits set limits the draw of this particular tour.

Considering that BSS is basically a glorified jam band, the State Theatre makes a lot of sense.
Did they sell out the club when they toured for the Kevin Drew album?
APTBS is the no-brainer that night anyway. :D

Snailhook, bring them down for the 611 farewell show?
May as well go out in style by destroying the place.

Back on the topic of the Growing/Hot Chip thing, for those of you who aren't familiar with Growing:

Now you can see why this pairing makes zero sense.

i saw growing open for mogwai something like six times? maybe it was five, their van broke down on the way to one of the shows. i don't see what there is to really see.

Also noticed a couple of DC9 shows that I didn't hear about in this thread:
Does it Offend You, Yeah? 9/5
Basia Bulat 9/17 (I liked her when she opened for DeVotchKa)

Velvet Lounge:
Sunday 08.17.08 Insect Factory, Mind Over Matter Music Over Mind, Projection:Zero (improv sax/guitar duo), Dan Friel (solo electronics, of Parts & Labor)
Still yet to see Insect Factory.
The Dan Friel album is really good but I don't know how well it'll translate to a live setting.
