one doesn't just wake up one morning and run 26.2 miles at the drop of a hat… it's an all-encompassing lifestyle (or, at a minimum, a very serious months-long dedication). Walking up 4-6 times a week to run up to 10 miles before breakfast, watching what you eat, cutting back or eliminating alcohol, etc. when the missus was training for marathons going to a show was completely out of the question.

check the pronouns in that para, buddy: at no point did I say "i"  :P

this mfer did continue to drink beer, eat bbq and go to shows while she trained. did my best to not do it in front of her, but she was ok with our temporarily diverging lifestyles. she recognized it was her obsession, not mine.

Sometimes it's not about your quantity of posts, it's the quality of when you do post.

Or, you could just be a middle of the pack runner like I was. Five miles runs during the week, and a 13 mile run on a Saturday or Sunday that increased as I was ramping up to race day. I've never been more than a couple of times a month show goer, but pretty sure my marathon training wouldn't have affected it.
No need to get defensive! Sometimes my wife doesn't want me to do cool shit either

Your Cousin Carol doesn’t constitute “cool shit.”

She's twice removed and you'd think she's cool if you met her

whoa sweet line up
missed a few good acts too
I'm more of a day 2 kinda guy
Yeah, with all due respect to Carly Rae, day 2 is kinda a hottie and day 1 is kinda a nottie.
hope they are selling one day passes…would be just like them to only sell expensive 2 day seats and GA lawn to each day

Ouch, well they are, but $165 each before fees for the pav/lawn one day seat

My wife was flabbergasted when she heard the price. "I figured it was like 50 bucks or something."

So we won't be seeing Lana del Rey this year. $500 buys the music production daycamp for a week. $500 buys the pool membership for the summer. $500 buys a week's food in Portugal.
yeah, I was thinking of buying 4 pav/lawn seats as the hatch-hold has a lot of LDR fans
but in the end, I think their better things I can do with my family for $750

one day lawn seat was $125 after fees

This was a case where I didn't let any of the others know this show was happening…as they would have been like "buy tickets!"
but it's likely they will never even know it is happening, so my wallet can be saved

Seems like you are just making excuses

I mean, absent The Monsters also showing up, this is a just afterbirth on a mirror with meaning bedamned.
Concerts put a crimp in my marathon running numbers.
