wow, playing the club??….. interesting…. I saw them a few years ago playing the "Ink n Iron" Festival in Long Beach, right in front of the Queen Mary….
How were they?

I saw a video of them live @ KEXP and they seemed worth the price of admission.

it was a lot of fun….. here's a vid I shot at that gig….
by no means a "just announced" but I see Meshell Ndegeocello is doing a show at the Hamilton next week. I'm tempted.
FFS, do we need a "concerts I think I might go to" thread?

I call dibs on making "Concerts I Think I Might Go To: Commentary".

the "concerts I think I might go to" list is about 5 times as long as the "concerts I actually go to", I'm getting really lazy in my old age…..

been a GBV fan since B1000 and was there when they excitedly announced on stage that they just got signed to Matador
but not the super fan that you are, I do love some BBJ though …so makes it much more appealing

not sure why Jaded has such a bone to pick with the new guy, but the CITIMGT list of mine would be long and make me sad that I have neither time, money or energy to do them all

not sure why Jaded has such a bone to pick with the new guy,
I can be very grating

this makes me think we also need an "inspirational song quotes" thread.

So many nights, I'd sit by my window,
Waiting for someone to sing me his song.
So many dreams, I kept deep inside me,
Alone in the dark, now you've come along.

And you light up my life,
You give me hope, to carry on.
You light up my days
And fill my nights with song.

Rollin' at sea, adrift on the waters
Could it be finally, I'm turning for home
Finally a chance to say, "hey, I love you"
Never again to be all alone.

And you light up my life,
You give me hope, to carry on.
You light up my days
And fill my nights with song.
^I think relaxer's version would sub dong for song
Floating Points (with full band)
5/17
U Street
Very excited to see him as he blends digital instruments with analog. Hangs out in the Four Tet/Caribou camp as well.

I credit Sidehatch with the joke but I'm going forward with it because I want to see it on-screen

So many nights, I'd sit by my window,
Waiting for someone to slip me his dong.
So many dongs, I've had deep inside me,
Alone in the dark, now yours came along.

And you give me your knife,
You give me OHHHHHH, to carry on.
You're king of the gays
So fill my nights with dong.

Torn all asunder, adrift on the potter
Could it be finally, I broke my tail bone
Finally a chance to gain 5 pounds instantly
Never again to be all alone.

And you give me your knife,
You give me OHHHHHH, to carry on.
You're king of the gays
So fill my nights with dong.
And I'm also going to make an earnest apology to walkonby and bearman and any other gay boarders for my making insensitive comedy jokes that totally come across as homophobic.

Trust me …as a big proponent of gay rights since the early 90s…I've always wrestled with my tendency to use homophoic slurs as the butt of my jokes (pun intended)

Growing up on Long Island (probably pretty much anywhere really) it was just part of the vernacular to comically degrade others with these type of slurs

I think society has come really far really fast with gay acceptance
but ultimately comedy is far better than lynching
