THE EASY STAR ALLSTARS
"DUB SIDE OF THE MOON"

The ambitious reinvention of Pink Floyd's classic
Dark Side Of The Moon, featuring a virtual who's who of modern reggae artists: top dancehall veteran Frankie Paul, Wailers singer Gary "Nesta" Pine, beloved harmony trio The Meditations, Dr. Israel, Brooklyn pacesetter, legendary toaster Ranking Joe and others.
"Dub Side" features a gathering of musicians at the vanguard of NYC's reggae, soul, afro-beat and electronic dance communities, who have contributed to recordings by the likes of Gil-Scott Heron, Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra, The Soul Providers and many more.
An ambitious experiment in reggae rhythms and trip-hop sounds, and a remarkably elemental complement to the original, ESAA were careful to match the spoken interludes, sound effects, and timing of Pink Floyd's original, while still twisting the music into a completely fresh new vision. This special recording will be performed in its entirety for the first time in Baltimore.

If you can't and it's a show I'm going to, let me know and we can meet up. ;) I'll probably go to the Sights/Dirtbombs show and possibly Swervedriver.

And if you want to come up to The Mojo this Friday for BJM, quite of few of we Loons will be there, so feel free to join us.

It pains me that one of my favorite bands -Liars- will be in the area during the Thanksgiving holidays. And I will be out of town… But maybe this tour means they've finished the album? And will come around again.

ACKKK!! I was so hoping to catch this show with you. Ah well, I'll send yeh an email and we'll figure out what's what.
Hm. I just read the Pitchfork write-up about the new Liars album. Surely they will have to tour again when it's released in February!
It looks like Markie will get another chance to break out his Wranglers jean outfit:
