The hives seem to be passing on DC this spring..,,closest is Philadelphia

that sucks, was actually just thinking about them…one of the best live shows I've seen and was itching to see them again…Philly is such a pain

Edit…5.18 is a Saturday…so more doable…who doesn't like Philly in the spring

This is somewhat tempting. Not a big Von Trier guy but I really dug the vibe of the trailer.

It's currently rocking a 41 on Metacritic if critic's opinions matter to you. Not quite Adam Sandler territory, but pretty bad.
Sahara Hotnights > The Hives

Just looked at the runtime and have decided to skip. Don't think i'm game for an almost 3 hour voyage into Von Trier's head.

That's silly, especially if you saw both the Hives' and Sahara's respective BC shows. But that's not to say that SH didn't rip shit up for the 8-12 months when they were a thing.

I am bummed they're not coming to DC. I've been listening to quite a few of their shows from 2016-2018 and dudes have still got it.
Didn't The Caesars open for the Hives at the Black Cat?  They were another great Swedish outfit of the early 21st century.
Back in the salad days…

Yep - I remember being distracted by their bass player gesticulating spastically while he played

The amount of fun bands and great live shows during the garage revival of the oughts is too many to count.  What a great time.

Hit me up in May and let's make a road trip to philly!

I will recall, even though they put on a hell of a show at their last 930 appearance…attendance was low
