Why did the put the best act on first? Gate open will be immense.
What a phenomenally insane lineup. Of course it makes perfect sense w/ Madonna and the Stooges born and bred in Michigan.

That is correct.

Now this sounds like a fucking show:

According to Pitchfork, "Liars will be playing an afternoon show at a parking lot in Williamsburg. The show, which will take place September 4th, will see the band hitting the stage with Lightning Bolt, Panthers, Sightings and Shoplifting, so it promises to be an ear-bleedingly good time. Tickets are 12 bucks, which we figure is probably less than you'd pay to park your car there."
That is incredibly tempting!

I've been meaning to see these folks, if only to throw some money their way so the kid can go to a decent college.

In an interesting turn of events, DC9 has

Washington Social club on 10/16
Elf Power on 10/20
Rosebuds on 9/8
and of course Exit Clov on 10/15

They are starting to really get some bands. Good for them.
OK GO
Thursday, Sept. 2 @ Club 1223/Washington DC.
More information coming soon.

Has something to do with Moveon.org "Future Soundtrack of America" and the Rep national convention…
Only problem is their audience are too young to vote, and would probably follow daddy's advice and vote Republican anyway.

Wowee….I plan to be at every show at this point. The Rosebuds show will push me to 5 shows in a row, but it will be the only one *not* at the 9:30 Club.

Alex 29 Washington DC - I don't know what's the hype about that new club, 1223. I went one night with my girlfriend and friends and had to wait in line for almost an hour. What's worst was the doorman was letting in these Eurotrash wannabe cheeseballs ahead of us. When we got inside it was too crowded and it took forever to get a drink. It was just a room of Arabs who wished they were Italian..I don't know what's all the hype about.
