Oh my…I cannot imagine this at the Shushmere. Not one I'll go to – it'd be too depressing to sit quietly through a Love show.

I dunno. Is the Birchmere worse than the State Theatre. I was told to move to the back of the theatre because I was too tall and blocking the view of some old fart that was seating down. So pissed. Fantastic show though. Arthur Lee can still rock.
I just checked the Birchmere email and the Love show is definitely listed in the main room…Who knows, maybe another show will be added elsewhere by then. I didn't see any furture shows listed on Love's site at this juncture.

Huh, that's tuly odd. Were you told to move back by the other patron or staff? We were dancing in the 'pit' and had a great time…
His last show at the Birchmere got rave reviews.

Shouldn't that be Don, rather than Dan? If this is Don - Has anyone heard his CD? He's produced/engineered for just about everybody in DC, but I've never actually heard him perform.
Looks like it was in the bandstand.

i saw love at the birchmere in 2003 (when they had brass and strings), and i loved every minute of it. it was definitely one of the better birchmere shows i've seen. granted, i would rather stand up and see them front and center, but sitting down and blissing out to what i feel is easily some of the best head music of all-time was pretty damn cool.

i'm still pissed i had to miss them at the state last year, but i won't miss them this time.

by the way, the show wasn't in the bandstand. it was originally slated to be, but for some reason, they changed it at the last minute.
the birchmere was the perfect venue for the "Forever Changes" tour with the added horns and strings. without the extras musicians, Love should be playing in a proper rock venue with excellent support DJs :D The State was an ok venue but a bit sterile, the 9:30 club on the other hand..
