Just Announced

It's near the Big Hunt and has large velvet red drapes covering the windows. Apparently Michael Jordan used to hang out there. Usually it's full of, how you say, Eurotrash.

Yeah, I went there earlier this summer for a friend's sister's "welcome to DC" happy hour. It was quite boring. They have a happy hour thing where you pay $15 and can order top-shelf for the next two hours. Of course, the drinks are watered down.

The people were a mix of Eurotrash and the khakis & flip-flops set. A lot of folks didn't bother talking to people actually in the club, they were too busy with their cell phones plastered to the sides of their faces.

Wow. Hasn't changed at all. I used to go there a couple years back because I was dating this girl with huge…well lets just say she had an outstanding personality. Anyhow, she was into 1223, Topaz, Rogue, and some other club in Georgetown on M Street that may or may not have a color to it's name (Orange?), but had a sunk in bar, very Sunset Blvd. All of the clubs were the same with the same type of people (Eurotrashesque) who seemed much more interested in whatever the person on the other end of the cell phone was doing than what was going on at the club.

And the 1223 Happy Hour was $10 for the first 2 hours back then and the upstairs bartender was smokin' hot, so it was worth it. After the happy hour, it was time to go, because the drinks become ridiculous….
Used to frequent 1223 and all those other eurotrash clubs a decade ago since I have int'l friends.. ugh.
