Will Jens be done before Swans go on?

Edit:yes!
He might even be done before A Hawk and a hacksaw go on.
Someone should track him down and bring him to Swans.
And then maybe he will write a song about it.

hm.

cloud nothings/silversun pickups vs. hawk and a hacksaw/swans.

can we work out a trade and have silversun pickups plays black cat and swans plays 930?
God do I wish.

Not the first time this year Dysrhythmia has bypassed DC for Baltimore; their show in March at the Talking Head was aces.
they played in 2008 at the Velvet Lounge I believe…

they've played in DC more recently than that:

8 August 2010 with Cynic at the Rock & Roll Hotel
8 February 2009 with Tombs at the Velvet Lounge
He was referring to that Velvet show. I so needed that show after the horrendous Cat Power shitfest he and I went to at the Club prior to going to the Velvet.

Cat Power was the WORST.

One of the worst shows I ever saw was Cat Power in Buenos Aires…

She gives good interview but come on people.. wake up! $40 to see her? I wouldn't pay $5.
She is definitely a fine recording artist. Have not heard the new one but reviews are glowing across the board. But live? Never again!
I've seen her once, she ran off the stage while still singing
;D
Drama would have helped when I saw her.
I've seen her twice– once at a small club in NJ in 1999 where she was overwrought with stage fright, and then at the 2007 Pitchfork Festival, where she was all smiles– great show (Jim White on drums).  Kinda thought all her stage fright/confidence issues were behind her, but I guess not.

Only artist I've seen have a nervous breakdown on stage.
In Argentina, I don't know if it was the language barrier, but she started talking like a crazy person…… and then simply left the stage.. so embarassing and unprofessional.

The second time I saw her was more recently opening for someone I actually wanted to see. Her performance was better than valium.

She gives really good interviews.. they're always the same.. she'll tell you how she's recently had a rough time.. either the booze , stagefright, bad relationship or something.. so lets you into her life and builds some trust like that.. THEN she tells you its over and she's turned a new leaf and is in a good place now. SHe then explains with some child psychology why it all happened. Of course then she takes off a year or two and gives the same interview replacing a few words when she's promoting the next _fill in the blank_.

I often think people fall for her baloney because she is pretty. She's like that pretty tease girl in High School…If she wasn't pretty you wouldn't even listening to her psychobabble.
She's hot… that's all that matters.  :o :o :o
