How did you come into possession of tickets for a band whose name you don't even know?
Sure, Doctor Doom started his own chatboard. But post an article about lesbianism on here, and he'll come posting back.

An excellent suggestion, Kosmo. Obvously many former board members have followed this advice already. Only in Manland could one celebrate the erosion of a web site's content quality and diminished readership. With that said, anyone want two free tickets to this weeks Our Lady of Peace concert? whenever you get pissy you bring up your obsession with talking about people who don't post on here anymore … do you have any stats to back that up, or are you just blindly conjecturing again?

i'm sick of seeing you whine about the same things over and over and over and over and over again

Doom had his board up and running before the 9:30 forum ever existed. Can't tell you how much longer as I don't know but I do know it's changed formats and has evolved over the years. He'll have to fill you in on that himself and he's off in a foreign country working right now. I can tell you however that his board has nothing whatsoever to do with anyone leaving this board in exile. It coexists in cyberspace as good neighbors who sometimes mingle together but often don't.
We return you now to our regularly scheduled topic:

Super Furry Animals
11/8 9:30 Club

either an early or late show, Tom Jones is also listed for that night.
I'd be willing to bet late show…for obvious reasons.

I'm actually quite disappointed with this. U2 usually grabs some good openers.
ugh, i saw him at Wolftrap a couple years ago..was not impressed
that's strange; i definitely was told that Kings Of Leon were opening…

I meant: So, Tom isn't doing two night?

Oooooooooh! How are they live? I've been getting into them recently through their Rings Around the World album. Very good stuff.
i saw SFA just before phantom power was released. maybe i just caught a bad show, they seemed a bit flatter than i anticipated. they look better on their dvd though. gruff did some songs by himself on the acoustic, some in welsh. definitely familiarize yourself with their older material as they went back for that as much as anything. and definitely get to know their awesome tune, 'the man don't give a fuck'. they closed with that and it was beautiful.

This one just got better. Unfortunately, we'll be out of town. :(

FRI OCT 7- ARCHITECTURE IN HELSINKI, DR. DOG, THE ORANGES BAND (Aqueduct cancelled, call 202.667.4490 for refund information) $10 mainstage 9:30
The Oranges Band is no longer listed on The Black Cat's website.
Exit Clov is now listed as the opener.
Maybe Exit Clov and Dr. Dog can work out a world tour together.

Henry Rollins
Black Cat
Oct 16

From the 2.13.61 email:

Hello folks. Henry here. Here are show dates that have been added to the tour:

October 16. Washington DC: The Black Cat, 9pm - 202.667.7960
The cat is out of the bag! There will be a show on Sunday the 16th at the Black Cat.
All proceeds of the show will go to eSharp, which was suggested to me by the venue's owner Dante.
Several weeks ago, I saw that the 16th was an off day and didn't like that one bit. I asked
Road Manager Mike to look into a benefit show at the Black Cat. Calls were made, details worked
out and we had a show.
