Just Announced

i had the arrow up disc of rearviewmirror in the changer for the commute this morning and was thinking about how cool a tour would be… even better of course if it was at the 9:30 club for ten club members only :p

was thinking that i best be renewed and all but it slipped my mind, so thanks to afkag i'm extended to 6/2006

and will have an extra ticket as kosmette has had her fill of pj…

Headlining the Kos-Chella festival @ the 9:30?! I'll be snapping up some of those 'unannounced' tickets @ tickets.com

A couple shots of live PJ this summer would be pretty fine. I probably saw 200 bands last year (including Radiohead, Pixies, TVOTR, DBT, Bowie, Wilco, Prince, Interpol and MANY others @ SXSW, Coachella, Curiosa etc.) but none were better than Pearl Jam. For my $$ and for a litany of reasons - They are the best thing out there.

This from Rolling Stone on-line:

Pearl Jam are almost finished with their follow-up to 2002's Riot Act. The band plans to spend the next three weeks in the studio recording vocals and mixing. If all goes according to plan, the yet-to-be-titled disc could be released as early as May. "There's a lot more up-tempo stuff," says drummer Matt Cameron. "It's a lot more rockin' than our last one." Song titles like "Severed Hand," "Worldwide Suicide" and "2x4" seem to reflect that harder edge. Though the track listing has not been finalized, other candidates include "Marker" and "Cold Concession."

Cameron, who teamed with guitarist Mike McCready on the track "Unemployable," characterizes the sessions as more collaborative. "We reworked everything together in the studio," he says. "It's a really healthy environment – everyone really just wants to dig in and make the songs as good as they can be."

Pearl Jam hope to support the new record with a summer tour.

Thx for the heads up. I checked my renewal date (Aug/05) but I extended it just in case. The 10 Club has been amazing for me. I have never sat further back than 4th row for any show and have always been front row for at least one show on every tour.

The last PJ show I saw was when they played in Redding with DCFC on the Vote for Change tour. PJ really disappointed me. Alot of more recent, lower key material. One would think that political activism would get some of the more aggresive juices flowing. Ah, well….thx again for the heads up.

!!!!! FUCK YEAH!!! Original line-up and all! They're playing Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson this Friday night if anyone wants to see how they sound nowadays.

Other news:

May 18 @ 9:30 Club
dredg and Circa Survive

And indeed, PEARL JAM will be touring Canada later this year. No word yet on when the new CD will be released or if there will be a U.S. tour, but I've already saved up over $1,000 to hit up some shows wherever they may be. :)
People returning home from the Eddie Money show will get home in just enough time to catch it!

Break out the earplugs. The "stack o' Marshalls" will cause more than one set of ears to bleed. But this will be a badass show.
Will there be a presale for Dino Jr.???
I didn't see this mentioned here yet, but one of the Bright Eyes shows is now sold out.
