NEWPORT, R.I., July 17 â?? In a turnaround as swift as it has been stunning, the Big East Conference has transformed from a college football punch line into a national power in the past two years.

The Big East will start the season with at least three teams ranked in the top 25, and it boasts four Heisman Trophy contenders in Rutgersâ?? Ray Rice, Louisvilleâ??s Brian Brohm and West Virginiaâ??s Steve Slaton and Pat White. The league went 5-0 in bowl games last year, prompting Mike Tranghese, the Big East commissioner, to ponder something that was unfathomable two years ago.

We haven't had any posts from him that seemed to be made out of sexual frustration in a while. Maybe he finally got laid?

ha ha big east football. what a joke. it's so refreshing watching and listening to pac-10 football games and fans. not to mention having football start at 9 am on saturday's and 10 am on sunday.

Me too. But I'm guessing, like others, it's selling well, which is a good thing for all.
As I mentioned in the movie thread, this show sold out much quicker in SF than a lot of people, my self included, expected. And since it's in a church, they can't take the pews out to allow for more ticket sales. If you hadn't already purchased tickets for the seated show, there's a good chance you weren't going to get tickets for the seated show - that's why they took the seats out (and tickets are still available).
