I've never even been to Ram's Head. I was thinking of going to that Roots show, but found out that it's the same day as the Siren Fest in NY.

i'll be at the roots show :) I have seen Secret Machines and Soundtrack of our Lives there and they were both good, fun shows. I like the place personally. but not too many good shows there.

but its never very crowded either

Testify!! Frankly, I don't get the White Stripes. I thought Scott Lucas did a better job with the whole schtick ten years ago (and there are many others before and after him). But who am I to disagree with Pitchfork?

but at least the Arctic Monkeys' album is listenable…only half of the songs on the Raconteurs album is listenable.

Typically, the price of the show is set by the popularity of the band, not the quality of the music.

and i'm all for paying $30 to see the Brendan and his pals play if only because they have a deeper catalog to choose from to fill in the gaps. i've also heard they have added Dean from the Waxwings for the tour, which gives the band even more flexibility…
