How can LCD Soundsystem and !!! be touring at the same time? Don't they have an overlapping member? Is this just a 1-off show? I guess it's plausable since LCD are here the previous night.

Good question. Last summer, !!! had to drop out of the Big Chill Festival in the UK because LCD Soundsystem were booked to play in Spain at the same time.

I've had a blast every time I've seen them. The only reason I'd not go is because I've become quite the snob at seeing bands in larger places if I've already seem them in smaller ones. I'm an old elitist fogie.

Nah, I've seen the White Stripes live as well as The Raconteurs. Both were SUPER solid shows. I'll grant you he doesn't interact with the crowd much - if at all. And his charisma is somewhat lacking, but I think it's moreso shyness or some shit. Probably makes him more of a rock star, I guess. And yes I do love the fact that Meg's pectoral game is intact. ;) Drummer/midget smuggler.

I think The Stripes are still one of the best rock groups on the planet. Get Behind Me Satan wasn't as good as Elephant , but shit what rock record in recent years was?? I think they're far better than Arcade Fire (I'm still trying to force myself to like Neon Bible), Be Your Own Pet, or any other indie rock flavor of the month. But that's just my humble opinion . . . . It is what it is.

Long story short, they come, they rock hard as fuck, they leave. Money well spent. I can't believe that two motherfuckers make THAT much noise. (And on top of all that, it's actually high quality music.)

people that are bored at white stripes concerts have hearing problems.

having poked around online, i can only find a former member of LCD soundsystem that is now in !!! - Tyler Pope. LCD's myspace lists him as still active with the group, but everywhere else has him listed as a former member of LCD's touring band. so some confusion there… but looking at their respective tour schedules, they're playing different cities on the same night so either they don't share any members, or that shared member is replaced on certain nights… on 5/14, !!! is playing the 930 and LCD is playing webster hall in NYC.

and in other news, the !!! date doesn't jive with their myspace page - it has them in Hamburg on 5/14/07 and in Copenhagen on the 16th… i doubt they'll be jetting back and forth over the atlantic :) and their myspace in turn doesn't line up with their touch and go page, which has them in minneapolis on 05/09/07 and in philly on 5/15/07 - thus giving them time for a DC date.

everyone does agree, however, that they'll be at coachella. and that's your daily dance punk update for today.
