Where was this news from? I didn't see it on the portishead site.

pitchfork.com announced it yesterday
Right, but I'm not seeing anything from pitchfork or portishead about the additional tour dates.  Thanks for any additional info, this is great news.

It looks like American Ice Co. is getting close to opening on 917 V street.

I'm skeptical on the BBQ as I thought it was going to be a taqueria as late as this summer? Anyone that knows decent BBQ knows the pit is important. It's not a food that can be created properly in just any kitchen.
But will be a nice spot for drinking outside before a show in warm weather.
i wonder if they'll have "shootings" discounts.  every shot you hear while eating . . . ten percent off your meal.
Comet:
Friday January 7th Paul Collins Beat, Mondo Topless, The Electric Mess & Hall Monitors $8

Saturday January 8th The White Noise Supremacists/ Noon:30

Friday Feb. 4th Monotonix & Pujol

And The Shirks and Hollywood added to the Ex Humans/Foster Care 12/16 gig.
Cake April 14, 15 and 16

Nah, more like 10% off every time you see someone chased by five guys.
Are there really that many Cake fans in DC?

That's just sad.

Dude, if you don't think Cake can sell out the club three nights in a row, you're insane.  Plus, it doesn't help that they can offer up pretty different setlists each night.  You never know what you're gonna get: German Chocolate?  Carrot?  Apple Bundt?  Motherfucking ANGEL FOOD?!?!  It'll be delicious!!!!
