That is funny.
I can respect Steve Martin going through with this banjo stuff.  He seems to legitimately like and enjoy playing, as opposed to all the shitty actor to musician crossovers.

he's been playing since the seventies.  actually pretty damn good at it.  check this out.

It's not that he wasn't funny at all but he basically did the exact same "look at me I'm stupid" routine his entire career.  It's funny once, but by no means is he at the top of the field.  Very much like Jim Carey.  Same style, same old song and dance.
