He visits my office every few years and usually gives a pretty entertaining talk.

So will he be doing his Doo wap stuff or strictly sticking to the funk
looking forward to seeing the Sharp'etts
I didnt realize the Mike Doughty 930 Club set is going to be Soul Coughing songs! Nice, I might have to go see him again (saw him at Black Cat years ago).

Pondered going to that show as well. Haven't seen him since the Black Cat in 03'.

so weird as hasn't he been really anti-soul coughing stuff for years? i hear he gets mad whenever anyone even brings up soul coughing

i guess he needs the benjamins or he'd be playing his new stuff to a half empty jammin java…

His solo stuff is quite boring, but he's headlined the club multiple times over the past half dozen years.

Also, I'm pretty sure from what I've read writing his last book (Book of Drugs) was therapeutic and allowed him to startin playing his Soul Coughing tunes again.
the State Theatre has really cornered the has beens/cover band demographic

Cherie Currie
11-16

by the way who is in for Eddie Money unplugged!?!  ;D

He's touring in support of his new album, which is a solo album where he's covering a bunch of Soul Coughing songs.  So the show/tour makes sense.
10/6/13
Acrassicauda @ Tally Ho Theatre
(they're the band from "Heavy Metal in Baghdad")

And speaking of the Tally Ho Theatre, just announced today: Dave Mann's Tallyfest (formerly STPPfest) has parted ways with the Tally Ho Theatre and is now called the "tasty LOUDoun festival".  Will still be in Leesburg, just at different venues.

Persistence! I won two wristbands for TallyFest… I wonder if they will work for LOUDon. :)

First post here. I could read this thread in the last month but was only recently approved. I just moved this week to Baltimore, after living in Germany and Canada.

Many shows announced here are of interest, but I'm especially happy about Jorge Ben because I have never seen him before. He was supposed to play in Montreal a few years ago, but then they found out he also booked a show in Italy on the same day. I guess they won't invite him again!

I'm also happy to see Dismemberment Plan locally since they almost never played where I was.

I guess you can't really go from Baltimore to Washington for a show without a car?
Megabus? Baltimore has PLENTY of good shows on any given night, so you might not need to try to travel to DC that often.

so, James Murphy on 10/4, for $40, which is pretty expensive. Anyone have any idea if it is a band performance or a DJ set ??
That is a ridiculous price.
How long until JM is gouging aging hipsters everywhere with an LCD reunion show?
