Just Announced

This is so odd to me. Am I dramatically overestimating what BSS draws now?
I don't remember ticket sales for Broken Social Scene Presents Kevin Drew (which others have mentioned), but the last time they played 9:30 as proper BSS, tickets didn't sell out until days before the show. Also as others have mentioned, a good portion of the set will probably be dedicated to Brendan's songs (and some to Kevin's solo, as well).

I'm looking forward to Basia Bulat. And the Jenny Lewis presale begins tomorrow; I'm not sure whether a password is required.

He definitely does. In fact, my beef as a longtime fan is that he always seems to play pretty much every single from Girlfriend, Altered Beast and 100% Fun, which in addition to the new album material doesn't leave a whole lot of room for surprises. Obviously, though, folks like you really want to hear I've Been Waiting or Time Capsule and haven't seen him play them live 10 times already… :)

Well Ive not heard most of his new material - and some of it was hard to come by (meaning I didnt want to pay a fortune to buy it). And Ive only seen him once or twice for 100% Fun. So its nice to hear the older stuff still gets love, but I always like to see a good mix, and not just the singles. Anyway - thanks for the response. It will be easier to make a decision as its not a cheap show in NYC.

And yes- as a longtime fan im sure it can be painful to hear some of the same songs over and over. Considering I just saw a comment about a supergrass show and someone complained they didnt play 'alright'. i think they retired that song a long time ago - which some bands should just do.

$25 is a steal to see Matthew, he always puts on a good show. And I'm being hard on him, he usually does work in a couple album cuts and maybe a cover (Waterloo Sunset one time, which was awesome).

It's just that he's in this weird middle ground between cult act and mainstream pop nostalgia act and he has just enough popularly-known songs to clog up the set a bit for us diehards…
