Well then who is the guy I refer to as the "deputy mayor"? Seems to have the same physical afflictions as the mayor…is about the same size. I think he works at the gas station sometimes, as I've seen him in one of the little uniform shirts.
Just Announced

Where are all the hip hop acts? Or alt-country? Where is the diversity in music that Lollapalooza was supposed to originally be about?

good point there about the lack of different genres of music.
and frankly, there still isn't enough there to get me to go. morrissey and brmc on day one and gomez and elbow on day 2.

They're all bands we've seen before… the only band on the list that I'd want to see that hasn't been around in a year is Modest Mouse… Not
worth driving (biking?) to Merriweather for.

Is that it for the lineup, or are there more headliners TBA? Also I guess there is no secondary stage?
Considering HFS in comparison, its a hell of a lot better than it might of been. Looks better than HFStival has for years.

pj is the only one with a "*select dates only" on the lollapalooza website, for what that's worth
there is diversity on day 2, they have jam bands from the US and the UK
5/25 Steve Earle, solo acoustic at the Birchmere

hiphop/DJ - Danger Mouse, DJ Peretz, the Coup
Jam - String Cheese, STS9
And in terms of the dreaded indie/alt. rock category, I don't care what you say, but The Polyphonic Spree, Morrissey, Sonic Youth, BRMC, The Datsuns, The flaming Lips, Elbow and Le Tigre are all completely different bands from one another. Hardly the same thing at all.
The Coup were the group that came under fire after 9/11 for releasing an album with the members of the group blowing up the Twin Towers.
DJ Peretz = Perry Farrell.
