Just Announced

Drive By Truckers
Fri June 22
Richmond, VA
Brown's Island

Their website lists this as "ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SHOWS ARE ROCK SHOWS!! unless otherwise noted"

I'm not sure what that means and Brown's Island website has no info.

I wonder if this is part of "Friday Cheers". I haven't lived in Richmond in awhile so I don't know if they still do it or where but if it is then it'll be FREE.
That's what they call their normal full band shows.

They are playing a series of shows that are sit down and acoustic and calling them the Dirt Underneath Tour. The Richmond show is not one of them.

Okay cool. So why are there "Drive By Truckers" dates, "Rock Show" dates? Are they not the same thing? Just curious.

Browns Island is one of the worst palces to see a show and will have a lot of very drunk and obnoxious people in attendance. I avoid that place like the plague. Not to mention that it is in downtown Richmond…
It was posted a few pages back but whatever. ;)
Torn between this and the sea and cake.

If it's a Friday on Brown's Island in the summer, it's Friday Cheers.

And yes, it's an obnoxious crowd that goes to get drunk and meet other singles, but on the plus side it's always free and no one is anywhere near the stage.

What's the word on getting tickets for this? And is Pier Six GA?
Margot & the Nuclear So and So's opening for The Frames makes me happy.

I just felt like throwing that out there. :)

Ticketmaster. They've been on sale for a week or two. According to the Ottobar newsletter, tickets are going fast.

Pier Six is reserved up front and GA in the back - like Merriweather.

Tickets are not going that fast. That's the beauty of Rams Head Productions. The ticketing system lets you pick your seat, even at Pier Six, and lets you know how many seats are still available in each section. The front sections are virtually gone though.

Interesting. I tried multiple times via TM and it would only pull up lawn seats (2). Going through the Pier Six website pulls up decent reserved seats. Thanks for the tip.
Low is opening the Wilco show at Merriweather
