Just Announced

It was odd/cool seeing them in a full grand ballroom in NYC opening for Animal Collective. I think they won a lot of people over that night.

I know!  They put on a great show opening for Kings of Leon at the Black Cat.  Haven't managed to catch them since that.
Whoa!

Black Pus opening for Ratatat.

Automatically turns this show from "meh…one-trick pony" to "OMG this is gonna be awesome!" It's just too bad that the man who should be the main attraction is opening. Anyone who saw him open for the Boredoms last year knows what I'm talking about.

I just went to the venue last night to see A.C. Newman again (great show, but I found out he's pretty much a dick), and it really is completely phenomenal. It's a great space on a really industrial block, with great sight lines and acoustics. The stage is pretty big actually, and protrudes so that on 3 of the 4 sides of it, the audience can be against the stage. I think capacity would be somewhere around 500-600, maybe, but thats just a rough guess.

Wonder if they'll play more shows? I love the Posies and all, but I dunno if I would trek up to NY for this.

How about a double bill tour with Matthew Sweet performing Girlfriend start-to-finish? Hell, with openers Velvet Crush doing the Post-Greatness EP. Power pop revival time!

Meh.  I hadn't remembered seeing a DC date on the thread, but then again this thread is hard to keep up with.  Just happened to see an official announcement about it, so I posted.

*Edit*  Wow.  Just went back to the 9th and found the whole discussion, sarcasm definitely applied correctly Charlie, the on sale date is even there too.

is this line up meant to be an inducement for throwing up all the chili you will eat that day?
