Just Announced

An interesting tidbit that should be noted about the aforementioned Sean Lennon shows at the Birchmere and Ram's Head Live is that Jim Noir will be opening.

Have you listened to the new Dears album much yet? I just bought it, but it was part of my huge Tower run and am trying to focus on a couple at a time before moving on. Is this worth it?

I only have 3 songs from it…Whites Only Party, Death or Life we Want you, and Fear Made the world go round.

All three are excellent imho - I would push this one to the top of your listening pile - can you remember if there was many copies of it left at Tower - I didn't notice it on Weds there…

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll put it on top of the pile.
Tuesday afternoon there was at least one other copy because my buddy picked it up, but then decided against it (I think he put it back in the right spot). It's too bad we can't have a Board music swap party. Everyone brings a laptop or a few MP3 discs and some blanks and exchange some tunes.

we used to have board get togethers - I remember one in the backbar and one at Merriweather in particular
Yeah! Someone organize another holiday party! I missed the first one, so even some of the long-time boardies are still mysteries to me.

Apologies if this is already posted, but I just saw that at the Warehouse Next Door on Dec. 23, To Live And Shave In L.A. is playing, and Andrew W.K. is in the band and playing with them.

Seriously? Cd's?

Why doesn't everybody spend $20 and buy one of these 1 GB USB Flash Drives?

Load it up, exchange it with someone at the board gathering, and then check out what they gave you when you get home. Then you fill it up with your stuff, stick it in your pocket, and next time you see a boardie at a show, exchange your drive with theirs.

You know, if one person, just one person does it they may think he's really sick and nobody will talk to him.

And if two people do it they may think they're both gay and they might be right.

And three people do it, three, can you imagine, three people walking in to the 9:30 exchanging 1 GB USB drives? They may think it's an organization.

And can you, can you imagine fifty people a show,I said fifty people a show walking into the 9:30 exchanging USB Drvies and walking out. And friends they may thinks it's a movement.

And that's what it is, the 9:30 Board 1 GB USB Flash Drive Exchange and all you got to do to join is spend $20 and buy that flash drive and give it to someone else next time you see them.
Anyone want to start a pool to guess when vansmack first runs for political office?
