is there any chance they'll book a dc date?? this really screws my plans to see animal collective in dc on the 25th. i can't go to baltimore 2 nights in a row.
iota getting better shows recently, might have to hit at least 2 of the barlow/bettie/lord trifecta.

is it my imagination, or does willie o have no love for dc?

willie's most recent show at the black cat was amazing…the last couple of times before that i had to schlep to baltimore to see him. i think he has a thing for the ottobar. isn't this his first time playing the new place tho?
I guess it depends on taste. The Iota scedule for the next few months looks pretty bad compared to usual, to me.

And just a sidenote" Mary Lou Lord's last Iota show was so bad we had to walk out mid-set. And yes, we has seen and enjoyed her in the past.

I dunno, I think in the past few and upcoming weeks, Iota has a very good schedule. Black Cat's schedule thus fare in the new year - great!

Any idea when the Carlsonics might go on? I've got an early (and long) meeting tomorrow, so can't stay out past 11:00 or so. Will I completely miss them? And if so, how's the other band?
Didn't see this til now. Was trying to find out the set times myself. I couldn't make it because of a birthday dinner. Boo.

What was wrong with it? I saw her in Baltimore (Mojo Room) about a year ago and thought it was a good solid set. She admitted, though, that she wasn't really comfortable with an electric guitar and a band backing her up.
don't you guys leave in the middle of like every show?

No way! I've been wanting to see The Ponys for a while.

And the Beep Beep news is great, too. I'm not sure how I'm going to afford all of these shows…
Another one at the Black Cat…

SAT MAR 26- FRENCH KICKS, CALLA $10 mainstage 9:30
Wow, Black Cat is really blowing it out in the next couple of months..going to be my place for a while. The Hold Steady with WSC is great, and I'll definitely hit French Kicks to check it out…
fuck a mammoth duck, I'll be out of town for all of the above…

At this point, I have no clue. Got the info via The Ottobar.

Wouldn't mind going to check out Anomoanon just to see how they are live. Can't make up my mind what I think about them yet. With that said, I doubt I'll make the show even though I think it would be kind of nice seeing ol' Will Oldham in his home town.

Also great news! I'm eager to hear Calla's new stuff. And I thought French Kicks were excellent last time they were in town.
