Not sure when this was announced because it is not listed as just announced in the email but -
9:30 Club
Blonde Redhead
w/ Liars
FRI. DEC. 3
$15.00
Just Announced
The last time I saw Blonde Redhead at the 930 may have been the only other time they played there, around 1998. The place was empty. I wonder why they're getting booked at the 930 now? I thought they were Black Cat mainstays for sure.

Iota - Thu - 08/12/04 - The Zutons
August and September are looking pretty busy in terms of shows… I already have 6 definites and 5 possibles for August.
Originally posted by Jaguär:Okay, after putting much thought to this, I finally figured out what was flowing through my mind. I had my wires crossed.
Yeah, he likes them. They are a bunch of Scousers.
Not much of a fan myself but they aren't that bad either.
But could of sworn that I just read only a few days ago that they just broke up.
Maybe I've just been listening to too much Psychedelic music and hallucinated it.
What happened was that I had previously read about The Zutons coming to town. Then I mixed up the news I had read elsewhere that yet another Scouse band, The Basement, had broken up.
Sorry about any confusion or fears I may have unnecessarily dumped on anyone.

last time blonde redhead came to dc, the black cat was packed full…i'll be interested to see if they sell out the 9:30. can't wait for this show.
The memory is growing dim, but isn't the light show Nik Turner tours with a really psychedelic affair?absolutely. i booked nik turner at the warehouse on 9/30, so you don't have to go to baltimore if you want to see him. he was amazing last year. if you're a hawkwind fan (or a fan of space rock and psychedelia in general), this show is not to be missed. note: i am biased, as hawkwind have been one of my favorite bands since i was 16.
blonde redhead and liars at the 9:30 will be incredible.

Wow there's a lot of hype over this band (not quite as much as NY brethren Fiery Furnaces who are apparently the second coming, but close). And I noticed that Kosmo Radio played a song, though I had just missed it.
DC is the first show of a short US tour, but mid-European tour.

You're right, RC. It's actually Robbie Fulks that's on Monday. At least their Monday shows start earlier, and Monday's are half price wine night at Iota.
Woops, got an email from a friend saying it was Monday (I never look) – cool.

Saw them at a free show at a Tower Records in New York last Friday. I thought they were pretty good, even though I don't ususally go in for that 70's glam rock. Definitely worth checking out.
