This show is backstage, with Holy Wave (YES!!!!!) opening.
Whoever originally posted the Shuggie show on here said it was on 4-20. Did the date get moved? Or was someone a little too excited about Shuggie Otis haha.

I pulled the date as 4/21 from the Howard Theatre's site when the show was announced.  It's been on my site as 4/21 since the end of November….

Sweet Merciful Satan!
This show will be rapeshit insane. I can't believe they're putting it on the backstage. It needs to be on the mainstage (correction: it needs to be on the Verizon Center stage but I Am Not In Charge) but whattyagonnado. Anyway, as soon as I get tickets, I am going to demand that everyone go to this because it will be excellent.

Well, with a review like that…
Not familiar with Holy Wave but I will take your word!
To clarify: My enthusiasm is for GOAT, I haven't heard Holy Wave but will use taxpayer dollars this afternoon to research them for my amusement.

GOAT seems really interesting.  Will be worth skipping a painting class!

It looks like they took the full album off of their bandcamp page in anticipation of the physical release, but here is a link to a song:

They play pretty straight up psychedelic rock.  They have been in heavy rotation since I randomly found them while researching the smaller bands playing at this year's Austin Psych Fest (Which I still might attend).

Its probably on the backstage because not everyone gets as excited about this kind of music as they do for most other genres.  I'll be there, and I for one am glad they are having it in the backstage area.  I definitely prefer smaller to bigger venues to see a band.

You might dig Holy Wave, they pretty much kick ass.

Speaking of Black Cat shows:
4/13 - CLOUD CULT
Plus the backstage just sounds infinitely better.
