Excellent!
I'd rather see APTBS headlining but I'll take it.

I am not sure if this was mentioned already, but it looks like they added Holy Fuck to the Sons and Daughters/A Place to Bury Strangers show at the Rock and Roll Hotel 3/19.

I dug their set last week, this should be a good triple bill…

dammit, azaghal beat me to the VHS or Beta announcement. anyhoo, based on their last performance at the BC i'd have to recommend this show.

they're not headlining? i was assuming they were… all the better, if sons and daughters aren't doing it for me i can still make it home at decent hour.

Is this likely to sellout?
bombay - why risk it? service fees for buying the tickets online are minimal, less than half of what tickets.com charges (i think it's like $2.50/ticket). would be great to see you there :)

this is turning into a full-blown boardie meet-up… pre-game upstairs, anyone? :D
APTBS are opening the night if the lineup on the rnrh site is accurate, actually. Kind of a downer because I was looking forward to a 45-50 minute set from them. Ahh well; the triple bill is solid, anyway.

The service charge isn't the problem. It's my lack of desire to be in a sold-out RnR Hotel show. I've heard that they're pretty miserable. I don't think I'm willing to put up with that for bands I'm merely curious about.
I was at the oversold Okkervil River show at RNR. It was a bit uncomfortable, but not any more uncomfortable than an oversold 9:30 Club show.

I've found that the RNR can get much hotter than the 930 but other than that, I agree. They need to install a nice powerful AC system like the ones at the black cat and ottobar.

my complaint about an oversold night at the RnR has to do with the shape of the room - it's long and narrow, and the stage is rather low. result: the 50% of the crowd at the back of the room has a horrible view. i've been to one really hot show, and one that was just fine temp-wise.

bombay: i guess you'll wait until day of the show to determine if you're going or not? the fact that it's on a school night should help your cause. holy fuck are worthy of more than just curiosity, they should be on your must-see list IMO.

wait, what thread is this?…

Wow, though it seems like it's right up the Birchmere's alley, I didn't realize the Onion would put their name on such rubbish.

Sounds good to me. If I'm late, it's just because I'm still out in my car.
What's wrong with Birchmere? And what's wrong with DICE?? OH!

I went to OU too…

Sometimes the Union got good bands.
I saw the New Bomb Turks there.
