CSS should be banned from playing again until they have a new album, in fact their passports should be restricted to countries where they have studio time booked. They're awesome but having seen them at least a dozen times over the last 18 months with barely ANY change in the limited set list, I say for crying out loud write some new #@@%^ material. Bonde do Role isn't much better in this regard but a good time will be had by all, though I think playing both Sonar and Black Cat is a bit of overkill, it can't be mainstage at both venues can it? If so poor booking on that one. OK you'll be returned to your regularly scheduled bitching now.
When they have genius fans willing to shell out the money to see them 12 times in 18 months despite releasing no new material, why bother to put out new material?

All but two of these were festival appearances knubnuttz, so they came as a package deal, the point is either they are overexposed by playing every phuckin place on earth, they just have an uncanny ability to show up at the festivals I go to, or I go to too many phuckin festivals…likely a combination of all three, what ever the reason make it stop…
any word on a ryan adams date?

Stars of Track and Field have been added to the Cary Brothers show at JJ on 8/9.
Hm. Odd pairing? Also, it seems that Jammin' Java is trying to pack in the 3 bill shows. I'm used to it at larger clubs, but at JJ, it was nice to have a decent start & end time, with no lags and a hearty set length for a headliner.
Didn't SOTAF open for Joseph Arthur and the feedback [here] wasn't that great?
i saw them (SOTRAF)open for The Long Winters and then saw them on Monday night open for Shiny Toy Guns. I don't recall them being as energetic the first time I saw them, but on Monday night they put on a really great show. Could have been the NY vibe and everyone wanting to dance their asses off and having a great time, but they fed off the energy. Really loved their stuff. I recommend checking them out.
I picked up a used copy of Centuries Before Love and War recently, and I'm really enjoying it. I forgot that they were the opener for The Long Winters, now I regret missing that show even more.

What is the deal with that place? I just walked by it the other day where the old Laundromat was.

Is it a for-sale art gallery that just rents out space to bands, a small-scale contemporary art museum, a hipster art/music space or what?

Or should I just stop putting it in a box and be glad for Mount Vernon that something like that is there?
I haven't been paying much attention, but I didn't know that these were already on sale:

9/4 - Editors/Ra Ra Riot
8/16 - Neko Case
this was news to me:

Mos Def
9:30 Club

Just found out about 5 mins ago. That would be great if I ain't have to DJ that night.

Oh, well. Met him/seen him a handful of times. I'll live, even though it's good to see quality hip-hop here @ 9:30. It's been a while . . .
Smashing Pumpkins to tour after their Orange Peel and Fillmore dates. To this point the closest they come to DC is two nights at Tower Theatre in Philly.
Yup that's the closest they're coming in the near future.
Baltimore at V-Fest is the closest! :)

Yep, it's true. Buy your VFest tickets now and don't bother to visit 930.com for updates until then - you'll already have a Pumpkins appearence locked up!
Ahh I completely forgot about v-fest after I realized my budget wouldn't stand for it.
