Just Announced

Both of those are examples of the band choosing Baltimore over DC on the first leg of their tours, when the album is hot on the heals of being released.

In the case of AS, it looks like a case of no dates available around that time for the 9:30 Club. I don't know what the excuse was for HB, since that tour was booked quite awhile ago.

Alabama Shakes will play VFest anyway.

I don't think it's a 'trend'. Bands will either 1.) play Baltimore or DC, 2.) both, 3.) skip both entirely. Nothing new there.

Enjoy your drives up to Baltimore - and paying your gas money- all you suckas that came down on me for complaining bout this trend.

Of course those are the options-as they have always been- but the mix/split is different now.

They sound to me like descriptors more than anything else.
You could call both Screen Vinyl and Washerwoman "shoegaze" but they sound very little alike.

that is a very subjective statement.  trance and dubstep are completely different to my ears, but i understand when someone who listens to neither says "it all sounds the same to me".

Still a bizarre booking.
