Black Cat??? Somebody in DC???
FYI, I e-mailed info@blackcatdc.com and asked them to book Tapes 'n Tapes and I just received the following response:

There are no plans to book them at the Cat at the moment.
Bummer. Maybe they would change their minds if enough people asked? Any other possible DC venues? Are Tapes 'n Tapes too big for DC9 or Velvet Lounge at this point? Otherwise, might have to make the trip to Baltimore….
Iota?

What's the over/under on the date these shows are cancelled? I'll say May 12.
No way…night of, followed by mulleted, jean-jacketed rioting.

Still, I'd be more than game to see it. I had tickets to the DC show they scheduled a few years ago. I downloaded the Chinese Democracy demos yesterday; haven't had a chance to listen.

all that extra work for the staph. i dont like her…or anyone else who uses the Flaming Lips to gain Indie Cred….shes nothing more than an ugly Sarah McLachlan or Dido… <<<<

A) Cat Power's been putting out records since 1994- I dont think she needs The Flaming Lips for indie cred..if anything its the other way around
B) She'll be performing with the Memphis Rhythm band , made of old soul/blues musicians that have played with the likes of Al Green & Booker T's etc
C) her new record is pretty mellow , lends itself to seated enviroment methinks
D) if you dont like her or her music fine, but to call her ugly is really where you went off the deep end…I dont think theres a whole lot of debate on her looks

that post was ALMOST as boring as Cat Power's new album!
