Tue June 12- MELT-BANANA, HEX MACHINE $13 Mainstage 8:30

Nice to see so many great Japanese bands making stops in the area this year. Acid Mothers Temple and Mono last month, DMBQ this friday and Melt-Banana in a couple weeks. Now if only boris would come through. Seth?????
Woah, DMBQ is playing on Friday? Where? I just did a mad check of all the DC clubs where they might be and didn't see it.

DMBQ's show at DC9 a couple years ago was INSANE. I couldn't get over it. Making it more poignant is the car accident the band had a week later, which killed their awesome drummer.

ETA:
FRI 1 Jun WASHINGTON DC @ THE HOSIERY
w/ the apes

I've never been to the Hosiery. Hell, I've never even heard of it. But goddamn, I love DMBQ and the Apes, so this is just fabulous.

So… where is the Hosiery? I can't find anything on the web about it.
The Hosiery.

Surprised Snailhook hasn't posted the write-up that he has on his site here yet.

soundgarden in-stores:

ARMY OF ME :: JUNE 10th
After releasing one full length and two EP's, Army Of Me delivers "Citizen", a fresh, young and harmonic new album where you can truly feel the spirit of independent music, where pop melodies come together with rock and rolling guitars, where the whispers meet the loud and noisy riffs. On such anthems as "Better Run", "Walk On" and "Meet You at the Mouth", you can hear how this four piece can deliver explosive rhythms fused with soft pop and catchy melodies.
-truepunk.com

MOONEY SUZUKI :: JULY 8th
It's exciting to hear the influences of such monumental groups as the Who and the Yardbirds being waved all over the record with such youthful exuberance. Overall, there isn't much to complain about, even when it all sounds vaguely familiar. Like the Strokes and the White Stripes, the Mooney Suzuki pulls from all the right influences to make a very cool, danceable sound infused with enthusiasm and energy.

… well parking for the show is listed 5/16 so i bet the ticket date is an error waiting to be fixed
alright, sorry…didn't want to panic, but just wanted to make sure i get things right if the sales start tomorrow.

another quick question, if the ticket window opens at noon, and sales start at 10 am online, are some tickets held for the window, or can it sell out before the window even opens?

The ticket window pulls from the same set of tickets as tickets.com. If tickets.com sells out at 10:15, there are no tickets for sale at the club at noon.
Reverend Horton Heat
9:30
Thursday November 15th

I'm assuming it will be like the other shows on the same leg of his tour that have already been announced and will have Hank Williams III and Nashville Pussy opening up.

You lucky west coast bastards. I know there are a few on here.
Given that this Ryan Adams presale thing is being run through ticketmaster, I doubt the DC date will be at the 9:30. I guess DAR would be the most likely choice. What other venue would be a good size for Ryan Adams?
