Well the Warner is a better venue in my opinion.

If it's any consolation for you, I'll be entertaining my mom, brother, and sister in law (none of whom care anything about going to shows) on those nights instead of seeing Neko.

Ouch same night as Animal Collective.
The new Liars album is stellar; so are the 2/3 of the new AC album that I've heard.

According to Pitchfork, they are taking the show on the road. LCD Soundsystem and Arcade Fire are "playing a string of dates starting sometime in September and ending in early October."
It looks like the Aquarium is doing an instore at Crooked Beat tomorrow evening (Thursday, June 21).
Sounds like a nice time, to say the least . . .

Prince
Roosevelt Hotel
Los Angeles
June 23, 24, 28-30
$312.10 (70 GA tickets per show) or $3,121 (no that's not a typo: includes dinner & seated tickets)
2 hour sets for each nightly show, followed by impromptu sets by Prince's jazz band

As expected, Prince will take up residency for seven intimate concerts at the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel in Los Angeles, starting June 23. Verizon Wireless has signed on as presenter of the gigs.

Prince will perform two-hour sets for select audiences of 200 people at the hotel's Blossom Room. Following each show, the singer is expected to play late-night impromptu sets with his jazz band. Along with June 23, confirmed dates thus far are June 24 and 28-30.

With a price tag matching Prince's latest album title, "3121," 70 standing-room-only tickets will cost $312.10 for each show. The remaining 130 seats will be sold in pairs as VIP packages, offering fans dinner and seated show access for $3,121. Further information can be found at the hotel's Web site.

if i was packin' a little more bank, i'd go check this out. but i'm not, so i'm anxiously awaiting the announcement of prince's arena tour which will probably happen in late summer/fall to promote his upcoming album "planet earth" (release date = 24 july). too bad prince doesn't have an official fanclub any more, 'cause i'd sign up in order to secure good seats for this… can't wait can't wait can't wait.

True dat. Prince is most def in the upper pantheon of live shows now/ever, and I've seen more than a few. The price ($312.10, of course) isn't that bad for the fact it's fuckin' Prince plus you get two sets a night, but combined with plane & the price of a telly in L.A., that's a no show for moi. Good point though, S Dot. His last world tour was Musicology, so it's about that time . . .
