Woo hoo!
I heard the frontman fired two members, so it's not the lineup from last time…

Both Georges Denoso (drummer) and Patrick Krief (lead guitar) quit about a year ago. The conversation I had with them included the words "underpaid" and "underappreciated". Krief is now leading a band called "Black Diamond Bay" and Georges is drumming with him. Around the same time, Murray fired Valerie (keys) and her husband Martin (bass). That pretty much left the band to be just Murray and his wife Natalia.

While Murray is definitely the creative heart and soul of The Dears, I think it was Krief and Georges who provided the energy for the live performances. A couple of the ladies in Pony Up! have joined the band as well as some others I'm not really familiar with. Obviously, I can't pass judgement until I see the new outfit live, but I have a hard time believing anyone can replace the intensity Georges and Krief brought to the stage.

Enough of being pedantic. I'm sure they'll put on a good show but I don't think we can expect anything close to they way it was before.

wrong board.
Why do you call one of them by his first name and the other by his last name?

Because if you dont love me now, you will never love me again. I can still hear you saying you would never break the chain.

You mean Krief? That's what he calls himself. Most people just call him Krief. No idea why.
Perhaps people would appreciate him more if he went by "Patrick".

Yeah, I'm aware of the lineup changes, but I still want to see them. The new album is definitely less intense than previous albums, but I'm willing to give Murray the benefit of the doubt.

That's sort of a dumb name for a band.

two nights of sharon jones… nice.
Not really "Just Announced", but for maybe the first time since they stopped taking out ads in the City Paper (years) I took a look at the Jaxx calendar, and oh boy…

March 14
ADLER'S APPETITE's current lineup is Sheldon Tarsha on vocals, Alex Grossi (HOOKERS 'N' BLOW, ex-QUIET RIOT) on guitar, Michael Thomas (FASTER PUSSYCAT) on guitar, and Chip Z'nuff (ENUFF Z'NUFF) on bass.
ADLER'S APPETITE, the band led by former GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler, will embark on a full U.S. tour for the first time ever this winter/spring. The group will perform the iconic GN'R album "Appetite For Destruction" in its entirety along with other classics and some surprises.

March 28
Sponge (a band whose instore I unintentionally walked in on in a suburban Michigan Harmony House…)

April 5
MSG (reunion!)

May 2
Nektar w/ Oblivion Sun (members of Happy the Man)

I know you guys were just waiting for a Jaxx alert.

Iron and Wine is doing a similar thing, except they're not playing DC for it.

Bowie did the same thing in 1990 for his Sound+Vision tour.
