Washington, DC (venue TBA)

that's silversun pickups on tour with snow patrol…ugh
And just five days after Valentine's Day. Man, what an opportunity to treat the wife/girlfriend to a full blown romantic week.

Though I sort of doubt any Slayer fans actually have wives or girlfriends, except in their Playstation games.

Holy cow, just two days after Mastodon and Priestess. This will be quite the rocking week.
Unless Sufjan Stevens' level of popularity twindles before February, I think seats at a free show at a 2300 seat auditorium will go fast.

And that's not even counting the general Kennedy Center faithful that will be there to celebrate the anniversary.
Aren't all of those things first come first served, no tickets?

The Nickel Creek/RHett Miller Anniversary free show years ago had a huge line.
FYI, tonight's BY and KCRW show at DC9 has been changed a bit. Trespassers William are playing second, around 1030ish, bookended by Anthony Childs and Lejeune, both locals.

Hope some of you brave the inclement weather to catch them.

I plan to brave the weather to see Micah P. Hinson at Iota. I can't recommend this guy enough.

one asks "and do you feel scared?", while the other one know it…
Wow, Slayer is forty bucks a pop. That seems like a lot. I guess they could play a bigger venue if they so chose, but… 40 bucks. If Mastodon wasn't playing two days prior (for 15 bucks, refreshingly enough), I'd shell out the Slayer money no problem. But now it becomes a toss-up. And I like the Slayer album a lot more than the Mastodon one.
So wait…do you have to obtain tickets for SS on 2/5, or do you just show up?
just show up… early.

can't wait to see the looks on the faces of the noble supporters and distinguished patrons of the Kennedy, gathered in gowns and tuxes to celebrate the 10th aniversary, as they mingle with goatee'd hipsters in ripped jeaned. rock da casbah!

That's the most expensive BC show I've ever heard of. And it's on the backstage? That's funny. I guess if you're a huge PPM fan, this is as intimate as it gets.

I think the spendiest 9:30 show I've heard of was the Melissa Ethridge show, at $75 a pop, but there's probably been something higher than that.
I once had to write a congressional resolution (that passed) honoring Peter Yarrow. He's a big advocate of anti-bullying. He likes to have awareness events and play a song called "Don't Laugh At Me". I don't even know where to start with that one. Never been a fan…"Puff the Magic Dragon" just didn't cut it for me.
How much would the show be if Paul and Mary were there with him?
