I really hate that it has come to this, but it seems like just about the only power they have left

yet…we have this from one of our own
Gillibrand is advocating against a shutdown, saying, “This will not be a normal shutdown.”
Democrats are just not giving cloture. I mean unless there are 7 democrats willing to do that. Sounds like gillibrand might be ONE.

It’s not as simple as saying democrats are shutting down the government. If republicans care they can negotiate.

All in all because Trump has lost support I am in favor of not giving cloture. If he was super popular I would feel differently.

aoc nailed it
AOC slammed Mike Johnson, saying: “You run the government. If you have the votes, then go ahead. If you need Democrats, then you need to negotiate with Democrats. Those are your two options. Blaming someone else because your shoes are untied isn’t one.”
As someone that enjoys walking with my shoes untied I resent that!

“Conflicts with Space”
I do agree with his general point.

I blame sidehutch. He really should have quoted my post and put his comment in the MAGA thread.

But who really gives a shit.
