Just Announced

I was hoping to decrease the time investment, not increase it.

That looks very cool. Too bad it's 2 hours 15 minutes from my house.

James Ford approved beers and at least one good band.

Cheap hotels are in walking distance.
Wow, what a bunch of losers. That show is seriously bad.

Are the same people that bought tickets to that the same people that think Zooey Deschanel's tv show and Xmas album are good?

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sold Out instantly.  Wow.
JF, get over it.  I don't tell you the bands you like are crappy.  If you're not interested, shut your pie hole.  Haven't seen show, know it'll be a popular event, got tix for friends.
PS, it's "are the same people WHO bought tickets," not "THAT bought tickets."  Just sayin'.
But you CAN! This is a music discussion board!
I made it through about 1.5 episodes, and those are 45 minutes of my life i'll never get back.  :-[

wahhh so you don't like a tv show. That makes everyone else losers.  nextttt
So what about Portland Live! will make it more exciting than watching it at home?
Are they known for their great live shows?

Of course you can.  You just do it in a particularly douche-y way.  I'd forgotten, my bad.  ;)

I'll admit, my critique was about as clever as the show.

Son of a bitch! I didn't read the date and thought the one sale date was tomorrow :(
Also got an email a few days ago that Mogwai got rescheduled for June 8th.  I still have my ticket that I purchased in Feb 2011 somehow and hopefully its third times a charm and they will actually show up this time.

Do we agree?!?!  Yes, "Portlandia" is just FUNDAMENTALLY awful.  Just horribly unfunny in CONCEPT.  If you think it's funny you're a BAD PERSON.  It's the ultimate, hispter, high-concept, "aren't we CLEVER!" piece of bullshit.  Seriously, when they look back on people like you in the future and wonder why you failed, they will say "They thought 'Porlandia' was the supreme comedic statement for their generation."  And it will explain EVERYTHING!

Brian

P.S.  The Venn diagram of these people and the people who, two years ago, cared more about Conan O'Brien than anything else and thought he was a combination of Lenny Bruce and the Memphis 3 is one big circle, isn't it?

I know know wtf you're talking about here, but I'm looking forward to Paradise Lost 3 on HBO tonight.

Portlandia is far from clever and if anything else it picks on hipsters the most. I watched all 6 episodes of season 1 in a sitting and I'll say half of the stuff is funny. But that half is funnier than all of the NBC comedies combined. So who gives a shit? People get their panties all in a bunch when 1 show comes to 930 that "ISN'T WORTHY", get over it? I dunno.

God, I wish they'd just bring Wonderfalls back.
Aww leave Conan O'Brien out of this shit Portlandia discussion.

They are supposed to play Bonnaroo this year, so that makes sense.  IT also increases the likelihood that it happens I would think…

EDIT: Chris, it got rescheduled to the 11th…

From Ticketfly:

"Mogwai at 9:30 Club, originally scheduled for both April 19th and September 29th, 2011, has been rescheduled for a new date of Monday, June 11th, 2012. Tickets purchased for either of these dates will be good for the rescheduled date. If you ordered tickets to be held at will call, those tickets will be available for pick up on the new date."
