You're saying every Visa signature card has the same first 6 digits?

they may well… the first digits of a credit card identify what kind of card it is (mc, visa, amex, etc), the next few digits identify what bank issued it, etc… the part that identified your card in particular doesn't come until the last 8 digits i believe. so for example, all visa signature cards would start between 451100 and 451299 (completely made this up…)

ergo, if someone gets their paws on the first 6 digits of a visa signature card - PLEASE SHARE! this info isn't identifying. question is: do you have to use a vis signature card to pay for the order, too? (i know that's the case with some Amex reserved ticket sales…)

Well since ALL VISA cards start with the same number you are 1/6 of the way towards figuring out a valid 6 digit code…
awesome, only 99,999 possible combinations to try!
I got a friend's 6 digits of his VISA signature card and it worked as a password but I actually did not buy a ticket myself…(still contemplating)…
just got an email from freakscene forum about the new Dinosaur Jr. dates starting in may . . . and no d.c. dates, or anywhere close.
Is this Elvis Costello show solo, or with band?

I saw the Stooges and Elvis (solo) on successive nights at Bumbershoot a couple of years ago. I wasn't much of a fan of either before the show. Whereas the Stooges blew me away (a phrase I seldom use), Elvis solo sucked. I don't really know his catalog beyond the more popular stuff, but I didn't hear him play much of the popular stuff.

$75 is a whopping amount. I'd rather spread that between five $15 shows myself.

Wait, so there are TWO Elvis Costello shows? One at 6:30 and one at 8:00?

That's what its showing in the presale area…
That would equate to a dollar per minute played.

The presale has already started.
According to a Merriweather email:

special guest Rufus Wainwright

Hosted by Margaret Cho

The Misshapes aren't listed in the email. Not sure if they're going to be there or not.

How long does he normally play for? If there is a show at 630 & 8, I can't see him playing for more than 1 hour for the first show since the club needs time to kick everyone out.

Looks like just one show to me. The other is listed as the Elvis Costello "VIP experience." There is a description under the Ticketmaster listing for another show: "The VIP Experience consists of access to an exclusive lounge, hors d'oeuvres, and a private bar."
The previous poster already explained this but this is what the press release says:

"Beginning today, Visa Signature cardholders can purchase advance concert tickets before they go on sale to the general public on April 7, 2007. During the pre-sale, which extends through April 6, 2007, tickets and VIP experiences can only be purchased with a Visa Signature card.

Visa Signature cardholders have the option to purchase general admission tickets or a VIP concert experience, which includes one concert ticket. VIP experiences vary based upon the venue and may include access to premier seating, VIP viewing areas, a dedicated bar and pre-show receptions. During the concert series, Visa Signature cardholders will have the opportunity to receive a limited edition Elvis Costello compilation compact disc at select venues."

But since a GA ticket and VIP Experience Package (which includes a GA ticket) are the same price, I'd probably go for the VIP Experience because, hey, you may get a free cd.

Both the 6:30 and 8:00 listings now say G/A. Didn't the 6:30 say VIP before?
