ariel pink is this dude who is kind of a recluse and makes lo-fi pop songs. download "alisa" and "for kate i wait" to get an idea of what he does. his live shows, in the past, have been disasters. but that's part of the fun of seeing him live. his records are great if youre looking for a trippier version of early guided by voices.

yeah, ariel's sort of like what would happen if you replaced bob pollard's rolling rocks with blotters. maybe. there's some self-mythology at work there. i wish i liked the two most recent cass albums as much as the first two, but i simply do not. but man, "not the way" and "a" are stone classics, every fuckin' track.
