I actually went for the opener, Sierra Hull. She, and the preshow brewery stops, made it worth the price of the gas.

Trying to stay neutral on this whole artist selling merchandise issue.. But, I'm getting serious Tech Blogger vibes about the LN announcement as the devil is in the details and there are a lot of asterisks on that announcement (limited venues, timeframe, etc)  timing is also suspect given antitrust investigations, etc.  I'm seeing some push back on the announcement,  but lots of so why don't the rest of you independent venues just blindly follow suit…  the whole all music should be free Tech Blogger attitude, because artists make all their money touring, is why i stopped even reading those blogs… lots of sudden experts on the economics of music venues

Can you translate this into English, please?
1st sentence is not surprising

Austin City Limits Festival on Hulu.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs+The Breeders+Cigarettes After Sex seems like a run of bands on Sunday that some boardie seniors might enjoy.
Sleater Kinney.

I feel like this is on of those bands I'm supposed to like, but I've never heard any of their music.

They're playing a show?

Of course you're supposed to like them. You lose your indie card if you don't. Girl band, check. Lesbians in band, check. From Portland area, check.

Never mind that their squalling voices and untuned instruments are ear poison. Pitchfork says you have to like them. I envy you that you've never heard them.

I say this as someone who owns their first 7 LPs – they're merely fine. Possibly the most overrated band of that decade amongst people of a certain ilk.

You should definitely check out Dig Me Out and the original lineup was worth seeing but its one of those bands like Yo La Tengo where from the way people talk about them you'd think they're Jesus Christ returned to Earth in musical form and they're just merely OK.
Yet another bad take from Julian! SK is awesome and their only 'bad' album is their latest.
