Anthem
$55-75

These prices are insane.
Youre forgetting that if The Anthem didn’t exist, the band probably would’ve skipped one of the top 7 media markets in the country altogether.

It’s the least we can do to thank The Anthem is pay $55 for a band with two hits.

They've sold five million albums in the UK and more than two million here in the US.  Hardly "a band with two hits."
Name more than two songs of theirs you’ve ever heard in public or on the radio. I’ll wait.

I like the band, for the record, although their live shows are extremely “meh.”

Right after you list off all the radio hits that St Vincent, QOTSA, Thievery Corporation, and Courtney Barnett have had.

Surprised Live Nation wants to book them again after the poor Capital One Arena attendance last year, at a larger venue nonetheless.

I agree, it is kinda of insane how many venues there are in DC now compared to a decade or two ago.

He can barely even keep food on his childrens’ table or a roof on his amphithea— wait, too soon.
I don’t think it affects IMP as much as Jammin Java, birchmere, pearl street, city winery, Hamilton, gypsy Sally’s, Bethesda bohemian and many others which seem to be competing over the same Americana folk type acts…also hill country and union stage….its nuts

a number of the acts like Rhett Miller/Old 97s and number of others used to only play the 930
not a big dent in his pocket I agree
it used to just be the Birchmere, Iota (RIP) and the Bayou (RIP) that would get those acts vs playing the 930
