Didn't this "band" use to headline much bigger venues? I know they opened for someone at 930 last year.

They are just awful.  They opened for Kate Nash last year at the Club.  It was one of the worst shows last year.  They have one, maybe two mildly entertaining "songs"/slideshows, but watching them for more than 10 minutes should be listed as some banned form of torture.
sounds like the perfect act for velvet lounge

Pretty sure I've seen them listed on a bigger venue's site before. State Theatre, maybe?

Bull Dog Alley w/David Karsten Daniels & The Reconquista

WGTB Georgetown Radio and What's After Dark bring you an evening of musical goodness.

Opening the night will be Georgetown University's own, the Reconquista, followed by the machinations of David Karsten Daniels. See links below.

We are very pleased to host our tantalizing headliner, Bowerbirds, who have recently executed very successful tours with the Mountain Goats and Bon Iver. John Darnielle even referred to them as his "new favorite band in forever".

Dag. I have absolutely no memory of making any of these posts, and I didn't even think I was that drunk.

And yet, I stand by this post 1,000%.

Sweetcell, thank you for historian ways. My future self thanks you.

I'm guessing $50 tickets. These guys must make a ton of money on these tours…

the last time elton rolled through town, i somehow got close floor seats for my mom and three of her friends.  i thinks she still loves me more than my siblings still for that one.
Between this posting and the Toad posting, you're going to lose all your indie cred.  ;D

your guess is right, if you mean the absolute worse nose-bleeds.  have a look at what they are charging for their 2 philly shows, if anything DC tickets will be more expensive.  with fees, expect to pay over $200 for the best seats… if you can even score them.  i tried getting tix for the philly show (admittedly only half-heartedly) and couldn't pull up anything on the field in both presale and onsale.
I just announced this one, I didn't say I was going to it. And there was a time – albeit long ago – where Toad was an indie band.

Besides, I've seen more than enough indie bands to cover myself, even if I do end up seeing (B)ryan Adams this year.

I have no problems with nose bleeds to see Elton John.
