I think I would pay more to see Cher than LCD SoundSystem.  I saw LCD at Lolla one year and they had maybe 200 people in the crowd.  They were boring live and James came out with a dirty plain white t-shirt and looked like he just got out of bed.  Then suddenly they got huge.  Don't get that one.
LCD is hands down some of the best shows I've ever seen.  So much dancing.  Love love love.  But, I'm not paying 40 bucks to see James Murphy DJ.  Seriously.
I used to think paying $20-$25 was an absurd amount to see a DJ set. I was at the Calvin Harris show at Echostage a couple months back and found out the tickets were $80. That shit is fucking insanity.
I still think $20 for a DJ set is absurd but guess we are a dying breed.
UN Fest Day Breakdown (18-19 October at the Ottobar)
Day 1: Pissed Jeans, Roomrunner, Ex-Cult, Hunters, Jaill, Ed Schrader's Music Beat, Obnox, Old Lines (record release), Sick Fix
Day 2: the Gories, Weekend, Disappears, Creem, Peach Kelli Pop, Tweens, Wet Brain

If the sets run reverse to that order, I will need to be there fairly early day 1 and at the beginning of day 2.

(also the VIP for an extra $15 is pretty good…)

VIP ticket (limited to 50) includes: guaranteed entry to preparty (with RSVP), gift bag of items from Unregistered Nurse, Ottobar, Celebrated Summer Records & Hunting Ground. Also includes a free hotdog/ veggie dog from Totally Hotdogs & 3 buy one get one free drink coupons for Ottobar!!!

My point is, I STILL think paying $20 to see a DJ is absurd. Calvin Harris played a set that I could have. I mean, I literally could have. I have all the songs he played. People paid $80 pretty much just to look at the guy. This was 5000+ people crammed in there like sardines. It's fucking insane.

Daft Punk gets paid a ton of money live and they basically just press play.  I saw Diplo and Bassnectar DJ at Lolla one year and they sounded awesome.  Of course I drank two bottles of wine by that point but still i had fun.  I guess I would pay over 20 bucks for them if I were in the proper mood.  Well who am I kidding I spent 20 bucks to go to clubs in Atlantic City to dance all night.

Yeah do they still have them? Those are great because you at most have to go to the stand twice in one day and two they are so tasty.
