So the friendly one is a player and has an open marriage. The curmudgeonly one presumably isn't a player and doesn't have an open marriage.

That seems like it would make sense. You'd need to be friendly to be a player. Not that all friendlies are players. But a curmudgeonly guy who looks like Jon Auer isn't going to get much play.
