Heh…New Club. Funny. The place has been around for at least 6 years. We got into a discussion about this the other night after the Obits show. Does anyone remember when the Talking Head moved to Davis St from Cathedral?

Anyways, what a sh*t hole that place has turned into. They ripped out the bar that used to be there and built a new one half the size out of ply wood. The stairs that go from the front room to the upstairs are all different sizes, and half of the windows don't even have window panes in them. I saw some great shwos there when it was the Ottobar and when the Talking Head first moved there. But after Saturday, I don't think I will be going back there any time soon.

ok, enough of my bullshit mainstream pop announcements… here's one that brought a tear to my eye:

Kids in the Hall - Live As We'll Ever Be! Tour
May 3 2008
Warner Theatre, Washington, DC

this is a saturday, but i'll be staying in town for this one (seeing them in nyc too). these guys are the uncontested kings of surreal comedy. hugely influencial for me, totally shaped my sense of humour. i couldn't be happier.
Goddamnit. It's the night of the CCRG season opener. *sigh*

Their tv show didn't debut until 1989. Did you lack a sense of humour (sic) before that?
