Just Announced

I guess this could go here too…

My favorite (eg, most offensive) comedian will be in DC October 20-23 at the DC Improv.

He comes highly recommended by Smackie, though he's not for the faint.  Certainly not a date night, though if she doesn't walk out, she's a keeper.

people at concerts nowadays sure can be rude to total strangers.  i think they've all been conditioned by the "safeness by computer screens" so they think they can say whatever to anybody.

went to see pat benatar . . . and man, there are some really out of shape fat guys who think they can just say what they want to people at concerts.  and boy they get upset when you hear what they said and stare at them.  no wonder serial killers exist.  some people really do suck.

this does not belong in "Just Announced"… this is old news.
Jens Lekman show is a stripped down set with a drummer…uh, I think I'm gonna pass.
definitely people at concerts suck.. which is why the bigger the concert the more people suck…

this is why i can hardly stomach any festival.. virgin fest has had a good vibe past few years though….

I remember hearing him say how much money he lost on the tour he did with the big ensemble (1st Black Cat show, 2007?)…but it sure was great.

haven't rec'd my email blast either…

and re: jens -I saw him in Ireland w/ full band in '08. Don't know how he lost money unless people really like him stripped down/solo………It was a great show and the club was packed to the gills [where I was].
still not sure I'll go to 6th. I do enjoy him and other S/S in whatever fashion full/solo. solo easier to sit for, but mid-week show, tix + fees I might need to sit out.
I'm not sure what your post says. But I'm guessing that he lost money by trying to travel to expensive, geographically distant places with ten women in tow.

Not that i'm going to shed a tear. I bet that tour was non stop pussy for old Jens.

I guess if touring is unprofitable, artists should just go back to making their money via record sales.

pretty soon . . . the internet generation will try to show up at concerts with recorders, demanding to be let in to be able to upload the show for free.

dude you left out the best part - performing "a pocket full of kryptonite" in its entirety! that means in addition to the hits you'll get deep album cuts such as "refrigerator car" and "off my line."
