Shite, same date as Rock The Bells. Uggh, why would they play Patriot Center in the middle of the summer?

Dont even bother going to ANY show in the Richmond Coliseum. They have the absolute worst sound system of ANY venue in the free world. Most acts can't crank past about 10% volume because of the severe echo chamber effects of the building. Let's not even discuss the 'security'.

I saw the Jesus & Mary Chain many years ago….I drove 90 minutes in a pretty shitty snowstorm……they played 23 minutes and stormed off the stage….haven't seen 'em since….

I was hoping for another Merriweather show myself. Supposedly, they're trying to hit the 16 states they haven't played before. Have they played anywhere in Virginia before? Obviously, they played Merriweather (Maryland) last, and DC before that (Smith Center in 2003) so maybe that's the reason why they are playing the Patriot Center. Hope the floor will be GA and not seated!

Is this an IMP production? Any idea when tickets will go on sale?
I know for a fact they were booked for the NorVa once, but I think that show might have been one of those cancelled when Jack White broke his hand/finger.

WOXY LOUNGE ACT: http://woxy.lala.com/music/loungeacts/

CRASH MANSION: http://crashmansion.com/

BLACK CAT: http://blackcatdc.com/
Did the White Stripes ever play the Black Cat (first two albums)?
Isn't this what they routinely did in the 80's? Wouldn't they sometimes get on stage, play 15-20 minutes of noise then leave?

Which is exactly why I'm not hot on buying a ticket if they book this area until I hear some recent reports of full shows that offer a fair deal. As much as I love them, between the money, time and trouble involved with going to one of their shows, I've just way too often heard too many horror stories about their shows. If they get their act together, literally, than I'm in. Otherwise, sorry boys. I'll stick to the discs.
I'll be sure to post a coachella set report then. :)
